If you have been waiting for a good moment to pick up a Scene+ card, this is a strong one. Scotiabank rolled out a fresh round of welcome offers across its Scene+ lineup for accounts opened starting July 2, and the headline is the Platinum American Express at up to 100,000 Scene+ points, an all-time high for that card. It comes in three pieces: 60,000 points after $5,000 of spending in the first three months, another 20,000 once you reach $10,000 in the first six months, and a final 20,000 for a purchase made in the 14th month. Those are real spend targets, so this suits a household that already runs its everyday bills through one card rather than someone stretching to hit them. The Gold Amex also moved up to 50,000 points, matching its best, and the rest of the family, from the Passport Visa Infinite cards down to the no-fee Scene+ Visa, got refreshed offers too. Most of these run through November 1, so there is no rush, but do weigh the annual fees against how much you would actually earn back before you apply.
